On Friday, May 16th at MUSE, Girish—an accomplished musician of many genres, former monk infused in spiritual practice, loving wordsmith linking lyrics and rhythm in a blissful musical event—will sing traditional Sanskrit mantras with a modern, funky, yet deeply devotional twist. Accompanied by Door County’s own Hans Christian on cello and bass, and Adam Cain on percussion, Girish invites the audiences at his Kirtan concerts to participate by singing along, call-and-response chanting, and dancing. Girish has been recommended and featured in “O, The Oprah Magazine”, “Yoga Journal” “Spirituality and Health Magazine”, “LA Yoga Magazine”, “Common Ground” and “Yogi Times.” Girish’s original music catalog of seven albums is popular in yoga studios and music festivals all over the world.
On Saturday, May 17th from 10:30 a.m. to noon, following yoga, Girish will lead Prana Rising Immersion: Transformational Breathwork/Yoga of the Voice Workshop at The Yoga Womb in Sturgeon Bay. Girish will guide a deep dive into transformational Breathwork, healing Mantra, and revitalizing Chi Gong. The PRANA RISING IMMERSION invites us to experience a radically expanded sense of our potential, our vitality, our wellness and wisdom through the transformational power of ancient practices.

About the Artists:
Girish is an internationally touring world music artist, teacher, and author. He began his music career as a jazz drummer, spent five years as a monk in a Hindu monastery, returned to music as a session tabla player on more than a hundred world music albums, and for the past twelve years has written, recorded, and performed his own original music and taught Sanskrit mantras and chanting in music festivals and yoga studios all over the world. His seven albums have received critical acclaim from O, The Oprah Magazine, Yoga Journal, and The Guardian, among others. Girish’s book, Music and Mantras, continues Girish’s mission to share the art of meditation through music and mantra with the world.
Recording, performing and producing music for over 35 years, Hans Christian has created a legacy of projects across a wide spectrum of musical styles, from East Indian to Rock Roll to Ambient Melodic music. His unique ability as cellist/bassist/multi instrumentalist and his deep musicality can be heard on his 24 original releases (including six CDs with RASA) and on countless recordings with other artists. As a performer, Hans has graced the stages with some top level artists while also having performed and recorded in some very esoteric environments. He has extensively toured North America, Mexico, and Europe as a solo performer and with other artists. Hans is working as a producer out of STUDIO 330 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.
