About Dorothy Scott:

Often compared to musical greats like Joni Mitchell and Van Morrison, Scott’s music blends elements of folk, rock, blues and jazz into a style that is uniquely her own.

Scott burst onto the music scene in 1995 with her stunning debut album Into the Natural, which drew widespread critical acclaim for its raw emotional intensity. The album sold over 16,000 copies and earned Scott comparisons to Van Morrison’s classic “Astral Weeks.”

Since then, Scott has released several more successful albums, including 2002’s Restless Machinery, which hit #1 on the Rolling Stone local favorites chart. Featuring musicians like drummer Brian Blade and bassist Larry Grenadier, the album highlighted Scott’s talent for crafting lyrically poetic songs with an intoxicatingly passionate vibe. The record spawned radio-friendly hits like “Loving Arms” and “Down Into the River.”

Scott is lauded for her ability to write songs that are both musically adventurous and lyrically uplifting. She has an innate talent for using her music to inspire hope and heal the spirit.

In recent years, Scott has been involved in charitable pursuits, including co-founding the “Peace Within” project which provides support for independent radio stations across the country. She continues to tour and release new music, cementing her status as one of the most talented musicians of her generation. With her captivating voice and guitar wizardry, Scott’s concerts remain an enthralling emotional experience for fans.
