About Three Springs:
If you’ve been in or around Door County over the last few years, chances are you’ve heard of the band Three Springs. A mainstay of the local music scene, they have been garnering regional attention from their eponymous debut record, “Three Springs” (2024) and their EP, “Room For Everyone” (2025).
The group was formed in 2023 by Memphis transplant Paul Taylor as an outlet for his left of center, genre-defying songs and instrumentals, many of which previously only existed in recorded form on solo releases under his own name (and his nom de plume, New Memphis Colorways). However, the band quickly evolved to also include bassist/vocalist Shepley Frater’s quirky, smart originals, as well as a vast array of choice cover material, drawing from pop, rock, blues, country, funk, and even some fusion! Providing the perfect beats for every song is BAMI 2025 Drummer-Of-The-Year, Adam Cain!
Joining Three Springs as an auxiliary member for this concert is Sister Bay native Solomon Lindenberg on organ. Taylor says of Lindenberg, “I never expected that after a lifetime of working with master Memphis musicians, one of the deepest and most soulful musicians I’ve ever been fortunate enough to work with would be a youngster from Sister Bay, Wisconsin. He’s got the whole package—the jazz language, the blues, the technique. He’s arguably Door County’s finest musician.”

About Paul Taylor and Booker T.:
This special holiday concert will be shining a light on Booker T. & The MG’S‘ record In the Christmas Spirit. “This record is a revelation,” says Taylor, “showing that Christmas music can have soul—it can be funky, it can have depth.” The group will also play a bevy of other R’n’B-tinged holiday classics.
As a second-generation Memphis musician, Paul Taylor has some seriously deep ties to Stax Records. Guitarist Steve Cooper taught Paul’s dad—legendary Memphis musician, Pat Taylor—his first guitar chords during an afterschool jam in the early ’60s. Additionally, Paul’s aunt, Mary V. Williams, was a house songwriter for Stax, co-writing many songs with Cropper, Sir Mack Rice, Isaac Hayes, and David Porter in the ’70s.

Taylor often played guitar in Memphis’ number one Booker T. cover band, so he’s well versed in the Booker T. catalogue. He’s even performed this Christmas record at the Stax Museum, which was built as an exact replica of the studio it was recorded in.
Says Taylor, “It’s a gift to be able to bring the Christmas music of my lifelong home—the spiritual, musical Mecca of Memphis—to my new home of Door County. We hope to put you “In The Christmas Spirit.”
