Can you imagine the sounds of a 1930’ & 40’s style big band—Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman—enhancing the amazing beauty of Door County? Can you hear the mellow strains of beautiful melodies like “Take the A Train” and the punctuation of percussion and brass for those swinging tunes? Can you picture great musicians performing in local venues that were designed precisely for this type of music?
Now you can! With the Swingin’ Door Big Band—Door County’s first and only Swing Band! Lead by Jason Palmer, the band features 25 local musicians, including Company B, an Andrews Sisters-style female trio.
All proceeds from the concert will go to MUSE’s Student Scholarship Fund!
