Are you ready to start or continue music lessons? Perfect! We have something for everyone (and if it isn’t offered yet, it may be soon!). You must schedule a lesson in advance to meet with your teacher through our easy to use scheduler, Teachworks. At this time, drop-ins are not available. See below for more details!
MUSE will be open for general teaching hours on:
Monday – Thursday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
While the building will be accessible at these times, your teacher will have more specific availability. Please view their profile for their availability. If your schedules do not align, you can always reach out and see if there is a time they can add to their schedule.
(If a weekend time is needed for upcoming performances, auditions, etc., this must be coordinated with your teacher and MUSE staff and not interfere with scheduled concerts, events, and rentals.)
Lesson FAQ’s
Who are music lessons for?
Everyone! Young and wise alike, it’s never too late to pick up an instrument or use your voice. MUSE is proud to support music education for all ages from newborns to lifelong learners.
Why do some teachers fee cost more than others?
Great question! Our teachers compensation reflects their experience level and education.
What if I want to study with someone who’s fee is out of my budget?
MUSE staff and board members are working diligently to fundraise for scholarships and sliding fee scales. Keep an eye on our website, our socials, and sign up for our newsletter to know when you can apply.
If you would like to contribute to the MUSE scholarship fund, you can give on our website, or contact MUSE staff for more options!
How do I schedule a lesson with my instructor of choice?
Create an account and sign into Teachworks. Once you have created an account, you will be able to view each teachers’ availability in the week’s calendar. You can then request a lesson. Once your teacher accepts your lesson, it will be indicated in your profile and on the teacher’s calendar.
How do I meet my teacher for my lesson?
Just come to the MUSE building at 330 Jefferson Street, Sturgeon Bay. You will enter through the front doors where you will see the MUSE Box Office to your right. Sign in with the box office volunteer and wait for your teacher in the lounge. At your lesson time, your teacher will come find you and your lesson will commence in the assigned lesson space.
How do I pay for my lesson?
Once you have completed your lesson, your teacher will indicate so in Teachworks. Every two weeks, the responsible party for billing will be invoiced. Please pay in a timely manner so all teachers can be compensated appropriately.
What if I miss a lesson or need to reschedule? (Cancellation Policy)
If you need to miss a lesson or reschedule, please log into Teachworks and indicate so. You can also call the MUSE box office at 920-333-2859 and a staff member or volunteer will help you with your account.
Cancellation Policy
To avoid a charge, please cancel or reschedule lessons at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your scheduled time or no-shows without communication will incur the full lesson fee.
We value our instructors’ time; most are working musicians who dedicate their non-teaching hours to practicing, rehearsing, or performing. If you’re unsure about your schedule, don’t hesitate to contact us by phone or email.
