About the Artist:

Tony Brown s a musician, songwriter, performer, artist and writer. He began his musical career in Waterloo, Iowa at the very early age of eight years old. His recording career began in 1969 and has spanned 56 years, 11 albums, 15 CD’S and 11 awards for his music, performance and songwriting. Tony has toured or opened tour dates for over 200 national, international and regional recording artists, having performed on the same stage with artists like Bob Marley, Ray Charles, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Richie Havens, Albert King, The Police, Jimmy Cliff, The Mighty Diamonds, Richie Havens, Taj Mahal, and many more. His music is a fusion of Reggae, Soul, R&B, Funk, Blues, Country, Jazz and Latin with a little Ska for flavor.

He feels it is a blessing to be able to share his music, writings and art as a form of cultural communication and spiritual healing for all people.

Not only is Tony an actively performing and touring musician, he is also a facilitator of music-related businesses—helping others to get their original music and message out into the world. He also creates educational and history-based workshops to present to people of all ages on the subjects of creating songs, performing, music history, black history, and techniques to help people apply themselves in a more productive manner to enhance their relationships with others and to more effectively share their talents and gifts. He is especially passionate about working with children and young people to help them learn positive life skills and explore their creative gifts.

He believes that through perseverance and compassion and through the lessons gained through living we can apply ourselves positively and effectively to gain a greater commonality for a broader appreciation of life and the blessings that have been bestowed upon all human beings. Music is an element of creation that permeates and penetrates all barriers constructed by some human beings to limit the flow toward universal unity and peace. For Tony, the key to the “being” of it all is respect, determination, dedication and opening our creative, spiritual and human selves to the power of LOVE. This message is deeply embedded in all Tony Brown’s music to uplift and inspire all people.

Tony’s grandfather told him there is only one kind of music. Good music. And there are two styles of music, fast and slow. Music heals every living soul.
