Ben Brill
Ben Brill is a passionate and versatile music educator with over 15 years of experience helping students discover joy, confidence, and creativity through music. He teaches guitar, ukulele, bass guitar, drums, and violin, and also offers instruction in songwriting, performance, and music production. In addition to individual lessons, Ben also offers group classes for all ages, including Music with Ben (Preschool class), Ukulele Group 1 : All welcome, younger student focus (ages 6+ suggested), Ukulele Group 2 : All welcome, older student and adult focus.
Ben studied music at Kutztown University, where he deepened his understanding of music theory, performance, and education. He has since founded and directed multiple music education programs in a variety of settings, ranging from early childhood classrooms to multi-instructor studios. In addition to teaching, he has worked professionally as a live-sound audio engineer and operated a recording studio where he produced projects for orchestras, solo acoustic artists, and bluegrass groups.
Teaching Philosophy
Ben is known for his warm, student-centered approach. He has a skill for uncovering what makes each student smile and feel motivated to grow musically. Whether working with beginners or advanced students, Ben adapts each lesson to the student’s pace and interests—often arranging songs into multiple levels so learners can play the music they love, regardless of experience.
Ben uses a well-rounded approach to music education that includes music reading, ear training, improvisation, theory, rhythm study, and building a deep appreciation of music and how it works.
In addition to instrumental training, Ben supports students in songwriting, composing, and producing their own original work. His students have written and recorded songs and created music videos that have been recognized in local competitions. His goal is to help each student find their voice and build confidence through creativity.
