About Tsurumi Records:

With a focus on our love for vinyl, Tsurumi Records has one simple goal: release important music. In support of our artists and audience, we are a record label dedicated to pressing, promoting, and selling records. We’ve modeled our label on the times—”back in the day”—when you purchased an album by an artist, simply because of your trust in the label that released it.

Tsurumi Records is named after the ward where founder Jeff Davis was living in Japan when he decided to start the record label. Tsurumi Ward is known as a hard working area with many factories and a busy port. Within Tsurumi there is the Tsubasha Bridge, part of the Shuto Expressway, that connects to the famous Yokohama Bay Bridge. This bridge makes it possible for cars to go over the more famous bridge. And‚ like the Tsubasha bridge, Tsurumi Records’ aim is to help artists move forward in the music industry, set up for transition to a more famous record label if that is the path they take. This bridge is the source of our logo.

About the Artists:

Son Reis Project is the winner of 2026 WAMI for under the Jazz Contemporary category! They are an experimental instrumental trio from the Fox Valley, Wisconsin, led by saxophonist and composer Jason Reisdorf, with Jason Goessl on Bass VI, and Ryan Thomas on drums. The group blends the raw edge of no wave and post-punk with the improvisational freedom of jazz, the weight of prog, and the meditative textures of raga, forging a sound that’s as confrontational as it is deeply expressive.

Built on heavy grooves, fractured melodies, and fearless improvisation, their music channels both chaos and clarity – unapologetically loud, emotionally charged, and sonically adventurous. This is instrumental music for the noise heads, the deep listeners, and anyone drawn to the edge of structure and the heart of sound.

Key of Evil—a mathy, noisy, post-rock experience. Born from Midwestern Sludge; this power drum/bass/keyboard trio delivers music that’s sonically abusive. Greg on bass and electronicals • Dan on drums and noise pollution • Dave touches things with his fingers.

The Beautiful Mothers craft a unique blend of Midwest punk and hard-hitting rock that pulses and swirls with rhythmic explosiveness. After a long stint in the much-adored band Spiveys, singer/guitarist Eric Balaban packed his bags and left Chicago for Seattle. Joined by Joey Lazerhead on Bass and Rob Wheeler on drums, The Beautiful Mothers were born, and Eric once again had an outlet for his prolific songwriting. There have been several changes on drums, but the overlying sound has always remained. The Mothers have had songs featured on a Converse Shoes web advertisement, extreme snowboarding videos, a Lloyd Kaufman documentary, and an upcoming film, The Revenant.

Dead Ringers is a 3-piece psychedelic stoner rock band from the Fox Valley of Wisconsin. Combining heavy, fuzz-leaden riffs with groovy, improvised jams, this power trio has been taking listeners on trips to the sonic realm since 2018.
