About Steel Bridge Day:

Steel Bridge Day returns to Sturgeon Bay on June 13th! A beloved tradition born from the grassroots efforts to preserve the historic Michigan Street Steel Bridge, Steel Bridge Day celebrates community, creativity, and the power of music to bring people together. What began years ago as a gathering of songwriters, activists, and local supporters has evolved into a cornerstone event for the Steel Bridge Creative Foundation. The event honors the bridge’s cultural legacy while continuing to champion artistic collaboration in Door County.

Throughout the day, audiences can experience live performances from past and present Steel Bridge songwriters. We feature original music written during the legendary Construction Zone Songwriting Workshop, a yearly creative marathon where artists from around the world come to Sturgeon Bay to write, record, and collaborate. Steel Bridge Day showcases the unique sound and spirit that has grown out of these writing sessions: eclectic, heartfelt, community-driven, and deeply tied to the identity of the city.

Held across multiple venues, including Martin Park, The Tambourine Lounge and Muse Sturgeon Bay, Steel Bridge Day is a vibrant celebration of local heritage and creative energy. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or a first-time visitor, join us on June 13th for music, stories, and the ongoing tradition of keeping the Steel Bridge spirit alive!
