Amy Harmann
Saxophone, Clarinet
Amy Harmann is a Door County native, saxophonist, clarinetist, and educator with over 20 years of teaching experience. She has taught in public schools, including at Kewaunee High School, homeschooled her three sons, and worked with adult learners through the New Horizons Program, helping students learn or rediscover the joy of music.
Amy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a minor in Communication of the Arts from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay and her Master’s degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. She has performed with numerous pit orchestras, churches, and community ensembles, including the Swingin’ Door Big Band and the Peninsula Symphonic Band.
As a business owner and mother of three busy sons, Amy’s schedule may vary from week to week. She hopes this flexibility not only allows her to accommodate more students but also helps ensure there is a lesson time that works for everyone.
Amy has worked with students ranging in age from 5 to 95 and has extensive experience teaching and performing both classical and jazz music. She is open to exploring new styles and approaches and enjoys helping students achieve their individual musical goals. Amy is especially happy to work with beginners and believes learning an instrument should be a fun, rewarding experience that builds confidence, musical skills, and meaningful connections to both music and the community.
